Joey Van Deurzen for Wisconsin's 5th Assembly District

Who are you?

My name is Joseph "Joey" Van Deurzen. I am a lifelong Wisconsinite. I grew up working around the corner on my grandparents' farm. I currently am studying computer science in college.

Why Am I running?

When I first looked into this race, I found no one that represented my values was running. From there I had two options; put in the work to run, or complain. I decided it was time to put in the work, to go out and meet with people in every corner of the district, to get on the ballot, and to introduce myself to everyone.

Why do I think I can represent the 5th?

I developed my work ethic around the corner from my home on my grandparents farm. That work ethic has gotten me through jobs from milking cows to tech support. I also understand many of the issues the district faces, having lived with spotty internet to knowing educators who lack the support they need. I will work hard to represent everyone of the 5th in the State Assembly, regardless of their political ideology.
